‘Tis the Season for Readings

Any Hallmark commercial or social media scroll reminds us that this season is all about family, but what is the deal with family these days? Whoever you’re gathering with this holiday season, I imagine you will enjoy my book recommendations all about family and the different things they can be.

This is a novel about what it takes to feel truly safe, comfortable and at home in the world.

What's truly special about the book is Chute's portrayal of all her characters as virtuous, unkind, selfless, mean, decent, and vicious by turns. How they behave one minute to the next depends entirely on how desperate their circumstances happen to be.

Now the second half of everyone's lives has to somehow go on, but how can it without the person who made it all run smoothly?

Equal parts novel, story collection and memoir, Monkeys does a remarkable juggling act in a very small space, telling the stories of every member of a large Catholic, New England family with seven children -- the Vincents -- in just nine parts covering about fifteen years as the kids all come of age.

For any new readers: My new novel, Tania the Revolutionary, is available on Amazon for Kindle and paperback or Barnes & Noble for eBook.
